Athisya Foundation is committed to protecting donor and user information and ensuring transparency in the collection, use, and storage of personal data. This Privacy Policy applies to all information collected through our website, donation/payment platforms (including Razorpay and Cashfree), and official communication channels including WhatsApp Business.
1. Information We Collect
We may collect the following information from donors and users:
Name, email address, mobile number, and PAN details (where required for issuing tax benefit receipts under applicable Income Tax provisions)
Donation amount, transaction ID, payment method, and date of donation
Basic website usage data (such as pages visited and browser type) collected through Google Analytics, for improving website performance
Messages, phone numbers, and communication exchanged via our official WhatsApp Business number, where you choose to contact us through this channel
Any additional details voluntarily provided by the donor
2. Purpose of Collection
Collected information is used solely for:
Issuing official 80G donation receipts for tax deduction purposes
Maintaining audit and statutory records as required under the Income Tax Act, 1961
Communicating donation acknowledgments, receipt confirmations, updates, or information related to Foundation programs where applicable
Responding to inquiries received via email, website forms, or WhatsApp Business
Understanding website usage patterns to improve our online services
3. Data Sharing & Payment Processing
Personal information may be shared only with authorized payment service providers (e.g., Razorpay, Cashfree) for:
Processing donations
Issuing payment confirmations
Generating receipts, including 80G receipts
Compliance with applicable legal and regulatory requirements
Donations made via UPI (including Yes Bank QR) are processed using authorized payment systems. Personal information, including donor name and UPI ID (if provided), may be shared with the bank/payment service provider solely for processing the transaction and issuing receipts.
We also use Google Analytics to understand website traffic, which may involve cookies collecting non-identifiable usage data in accordance with Google's own privacy practices.
Communications via WhatsApp Business are subject to WhatsApp/Meta's own privacy practices in addition to this policy. We recommend reviewing WhatsApp's Privacy Policy for details on how message data is handled on their platform.
Athisya Foundation does not sell, rent, or trade donor information, and does not share personal data for marketing, advertising, or promotional purposes.

4. Data Retention
Personal data is retained only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in this policy, including statutory retention periods required under the Income Tax Act, 1961 and Companies Act, 2013 for audit and compliance purposes.

The Foundation implements administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect personal data. Donation records and digital documents are maintained using appropriate administrative and technical safeguards with restricted access.
